The Top 3 Contractors in Cincinnati Area
Sunday, July 24, 2016

Online reviews are a wonderful resource, but you can’t trust everything you read. While most of the reviews are genuine, some of the most “extreme” ratings are questionable. For example, the friend and family of less-experienced contractors can post glowing reviews, even if the contractor has yet to complete a single remodel.

By the same token, one angry and spiteful customer can post a slew of negative reviews that inaccurately portray a contractor’s experience, honesty and craftsmanship. We won’t even get started on the subject of paid reviews…

So, if you can’t trust online reviews, where can you go for an authentic analysis of top contractors in the Cincinnati area?

First-hand, word-of-mouth referrals are always a reliable referral source. However, we also think it’s worth asking other industry professionals who they recommend.

That’s why the team here at Midwest Property Pros decided to list the contractors we’d hire to perform our own remodels and renovations if we couldn’t do the work ourselves. In that spirit, the following is our list of the top 3 contractors in the Cincinnati area:
  1. Neal’s Design. The first sign that the folks at Neal’s Design are tried-and-true professionals is that they’ve been around a long time. Neal’s performs the bulk of their projects in higher-end neighborhoods of Ohio’s cities – and they only do residential work (no commercial build-outs or upgrades). They have a really nice showroom and even host kitchen design workshops, which often include some handy DIY information. The team at Neal’s uses a comprehensive approach – from project start to finish – even though they’re considered “one of the big guys” and have a pretty substantial staff.
  2. Home Solution Source. Home Solution Source is a privately-owned construction firm. The owner, Brent, is a country boy at heart – very similar to our owner, Shawn. They keep strong core values at the heart of their small business. Home Solution Source offers a fair price and you can expect to get on their calendar within about 8-weeks. While their design skills are good, their craftsmanship and customer service are fantastic. The crew at Home Solution Source works primarily on interior residential remodels. If you need exterior or commercial work done, you may need to look elsewhere.
  3. Bailey Home Services. The good news about Bailey Home Services: you get five-star service almost all the way around, from work ethic and customer service to superior craftsmanship. Owner Jason is a one-man show which benefits you by allowing him to provide personalized service and greater attention to detail. He typically works on smaller projects, so a full-scale renovation might not be possible. However, the finished product will be top-notch with impeccable finish carpentry. Bailey Home Services only works on residential projects.
When getting quotes for a new project, there are many companies to consider. The most important thing to remember is that there are three factors to a successful project: good quality craftsmanship, solid design and excellent customer service.
